Carlos Alberto Llanes Rodríguez, a renowned visual artist, was born in Melena del Sur, Mayabeque Province, Cuba, in 1956. Is a Cuban architect and designer based in the United States. He has dedicated most of his life to the visual arts and his creativity and temperament have led him to create authentic and original work by improvising directly on the supports he chooses. He is quickly recognized as an abstract painter, although landscapes are still perceived in his work. Initially in his paintings, gray tones predominated, being executed with energetic lines or with large planes in compositional balance in which he achieves an extraordinary dynamic between his lights and shadows. Not limited to traditional media alone, he has produced works on recycled rum filter plates which have been well recognized by critics. He has actually freed his imagination and given free rein to the use of color in a process that he enjoys as much as the result. Each piece goes through stages that can suggest a different picture of itself, takes advantage of the unprecedented forms that appear and integrates them into a whole. Carlos is convinced of the coexisting diversity of his universe and that is the reason why, despite painting several works at the same time, the results may seem dissimilar, but it is nothing more than the result of his inner pupil and the end of each The work is determined by the legitimate harmony and the design that satisfies him and that manages to catch and make the viewer an accomplice. He currently has more than 100 personal and collective exhibitions in Cuba, Italy, Sweden and the United States and his paintings have been collected, his work has been awarded in more than five salons. He was invited to participate in 2010 in a show at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. He has also stood out in the Havana biennials.
